Gentlemen of the Press.
Distinguished ladies and gentlemen
It is with great pleasure that I once again stand before you to perform what is fast becoming a familiar event at Chrome Group.
As you may well know, Chrome Group is a leading multibillion dollar regional conglomerate based in Abuja, Nigeria, with vast interests in oil and gas, insurance, destination inspection services, bio-fuels energy production, petroleum products trading, the power sector, real estate, logistics and dredging services.
Chrome Oil Services Limited, the pioneer company in the group has been doing business since the early 1990s and has handled key projects (as part of a consortium) like the turnaround maintenance (TAM)for the Port Harcourt refinery- Nigeria's largest refinery.
But we are not here to talk about Chrome this morning. Neither are we here to blow our own trumpet.
We are in Sao Tome & Principe today for a different reason.
We are here in consolidation of the group's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes through which the group intervenes strategically in key areas of youth empowerment and promoting and sustaining a renewable and greener environment.
More importantly, we are here to celebrate the social contributions that three foundations namely: Fundacao Da Crianca E Da Juventude, Associacao Para Progresso Da Mulheres (APM) and Governo Regional Do Principe (GRP) have made to the development of Sao Tome. Being on ground you know how much, and can appreciate far more vividly, the nature of these contributions.
Our goal, ladies and gentlemen, is to continue to empower these foundations to be able to reach more needy children and adults in this country.
Chrome Group is here to support the good and exemplary work that these foundations are doing by identifying with them materially and emotionally.
In the words of a popular UK Premier League Soccer Club, you shall never walk alone.
It is therefore with great joy and happiness that on behalf of our Executive Vice Chairman, Sir Emeka Offor, the management and staff of Chrome Group that I present four new Toyota Flatbed trucks, school materials comprising notebooks, pencils, erasers and rulers valued at over 500,000.00 US Dollars to the foundations.
Thank you for your time and May the almighty God lead you back to your respective places.
Sir Emeka Offor
