Petroleum Africa: The Chrome Group Among the Best
Names The Chrome Group Runner Up for Indigenous Company of the Year Award
ABUJA, January 1, 2014 - For more than a decade, The Chrome Group, a leading West African oil and gas conglomerate, has continued to make amazing inroads as a giant among giants in oil and gas industry in Nigeria and in fact, in all of Africa. The company's efforts across the multi-layer vibrant subsidiaries engaged in the upstream, midstream and downstream spectrum of Oil and Gas recently earned it a prominent spot as a runner up from Petroleum Africa for its “Indigenous Company of the Year Award.”
Below is an excerpt from the December 2013 publication, which reported on The Chrome Group's achievements during the year:
Africa plays host to a significant number of major and independent E&P firms and these companies are doing their utmost to exploit the continent’s reserves. To date these firms have had major successes, but over the years another type of firm has emerged on the continent, making its own mark – the African indigenous firm. Not every African country that has an oil and/or gas industry has indigenous firms established; however, increasingly more firms are being created as these countries strive to keep a greater share of the benefits of their resources at home through local participation.
